Megali Ammos (big sand in Greek), is the beach nearest to the center of Mykonos town. Located at the outskirts of the town, on the road leading South to Ornos, Megali Ammos is a sandy beach with shallow waters protected from the South winds.
A Greek tavern is located on the beach just a few footsteps from the waters edge. Accommodation is also available on Megali Ammos combining beach front residence with easy access to the town of Mykonos.
You can access the beach with a ten minutes walk from Mykonos town. There is also bus connection and a small parking for cars and scooters.
Situated at the back of Ornos, also at a bay facing the North, Korfos is affected by the “meltemia” (northern summer winds), which make the place ideal for wind surfing, but not for swimming or sunbathing. Very close to Mykonos town, 2 klm South of it, it makes part of the whole settlement.
