is situated northern to Angali, within a small cove, well protected from the winds, from which you may see the top of the lighthouse of Aspropounta. The area around is uninhabited.
The beach is well protected from almost all the winds. It is a beach with very clean sea and fine pebbles, and usually has only few visitors, who increase only when the excursion boat stops here for a while, during the tour of the island. As the beach is secluded enough, you may enjoy nudism without any problem.
As it happens in most of the beaches of Folegandros, no facilities are available at the beach, so if you decide to spend some hours here, don’t forget to bring along water and your umbrella for shade. You will enjoy the rocks surrounding the beach, which look like made of marble. And, those who dive will have the chance to enjoy a wonderful spectacle, as the sea bed here is excellent.
For any problem or emergence you have to return to Chora.
Access to the beach is possible by the excursion boats departing from Angali. The boat making the tour of the island usually stops here for a while. Access is also possible on foot from Ano Meria, via the paths (one of them is stone paved) departing from various places at Ano Meria. It will take you one hour of walking to arrive to the beach. The return may take more as it is uphill and pretty tiring. No vehicle can reach the beach.
is situated at a distance of 20 minutes walking from Angali, at the western part of the bay of Vathy (or Angali Bay), an area with no permanent residents, but very beautiful. The beach has been named after the homonymous small church, found on the hillock, on the way to the tavern.
The beach is sandy with small pebbles and when there is no wind from the South, the sea is crystal clear. At a distance of some 100 meters, on the hillock, there is a tavern where you can buy water and a snack, or you may enjoy refreshments and meal, mainly fresh fish and grilled meats. At the beach you will find several tamarisk trees for shade. The beach is secluded enough and nudism tolerant, but camping is not allowed. However, you may find a few people staying overnight at the beach without any problem. If you decide to share this experience, you will enjoy a very nice atmosphere made up by the fires that the campers lit on the beach and you will join the rest of the people for drinking, singing and chatting in the moonlight.
In case of emergence you have to return to Chora.
Access to the beach is possible by the excursion boats departing from Karavostassi(s) or from Angali. Also, the beach is one of the stops of the excursion boat during the tour of the island. There is also access on foot, from Angali (some 20 minutes of walking) or from Ano Meria (it will take some 50 minutes to one hour). If you have to return to Ano Meria, you should bear in mind that the way is pretty tiring, as the path is uphill. No access by car or scooter is possible.
