The small dreamy beach of Aghia Irini is a sandy beach situated at a distance of 4 kilometers southern to the town of Paros (Paroikia). In fact there are two beaches separated one from another by a series of low rocks. Access from one beach to the other is very easy on foot. At the right end of the beach it is found the small church of Aghia Irini, after which the beach has been named.
No accommodation facilities are available at the beach, but Paroikia is very close and can fulfill all your needs in lodging. You will enjoy a nice meal in the cute tavern situated at the northern of the two beaches; otherwise you may go to the tavern of the nearby camping, within an environment full of palm trees and olive trees. The camping serves a good variety of dishes of the local kitchen. The camping has also a mini market where you can buy any provisions necessary.
The beach is well protected by the winds and the nice sand and the rich shade of the palm trees make it somehow exotic. It is not organized but as it is very scenic it attracts many people and is usually crowded and pretty noisy. The sea is crystal clear and the sea bed is ideal for snorkeling; the fans of the sport like it very much. The beach also offers a nice view. The sand is thick and fine and both children and adults will enjoy playing on it.
In case of any problem you should address to the corresponding services of Paroikia.
Access from the town of Paros (Paroikia) is easy by taxi and by rented or private car and motorbikes. You will also reach the beach by bus; the bus will leave you at the public road, a few hundred meters far from the beach, where you will arrive via an easy footpath. Some visitors pretend that the beach is difficult to find; this is not true at all as the signals from the public road to the beach are very helpful and accurate.
