The small nice beach of Achladi (meaning “pear” in Greek) is situated just beside the beach of Vari, at a distance of approximately 8 kilometers southern to Hermoupolis.

In case of emergence you should return to Hermoupolis, 8 kilometers far away to the north.
Access to the beach from Vari is pretty easy.
The beach of Megas Gialos (“the large beach” in Greek) is extended along the homonymous very popular tourist resort, situated at a distance of some 12 kilometers southwestern to Hermoupolis. This nice sandy beach, possibly the largest beach of the island, is well protected from the “meltemia” (the northern summer winds) and offers to the swimmers a crystal clear very clean sea and the rich shade of tamarisk trees on the beach.
Accommodation facilities are available in the settlement and the visitors will enjoy swimming in a lovely, pretty calm environment.
For any problem the corresponding services of Hermoupolis, some 9 kilometers far away to the Northeast, are available for you.
From Hermoupolis you will reach the beach by public buses with frequent service, by taxi and by private means (car and motorbikes).
The sandy beach of Ambela is situated within a small cove close to Megas Gialos, at a distance of 12,5 kilometers far from Hermoupolis at the Southwest. It is a pretty secluded beach with nice sand and shade from trees, well protected from the northern winds.
The beach is not organised. Accommodation, food and drink and other facilities are available at the near by settlement of Megas Gialos.
For any problem you should address to the corresponding services of Hermoupolis, 12,5 kilometers northeastern to the beach.
Access to the beach is possible from Megas Gialos (1,5 kilometers far away to the northeast), or via a footpath, passing by the small country church of Aghia Thekla.
